Colossians 2:1-3
1 For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face, 2 that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Paul carried a heavy burden with concern for many people in many churches in many locations. He hoped they would encourage each other resulting from being joined together in love, and attaining all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding. This process will bring them to a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself. You may recall that a mystery in the Bible is the revealing of a previously undisclosed truth. In this case, Jesus is God’s mystery, the One in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, however, they are now being revealed in Christ.
Think about this:
Hebrews 1:1-2 1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
God has been revealing Himself to mankind in many ways, but people have been slow to hear and learn. Now He is ramping up the explanation of Himself in the person of Jesus. When you are ready to know God, turn to Jesus with questions, problems, or concerns. He will guide you to the place of faith and salvation – the New Birth.
