John 1:1 - 4
1, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him, nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.
Christmas is the celebration of Jesus becoming human. He entered the human race the way every one of us does – through the womb of His mother. Just like we did it with one significant difference: Jesus did not have a human father, He was conceived by the Holy Spirit thus avoiding the original sin with which we are all born. He is called the Word (gr. Logos – the exhaling of God). He existed before the beginning – He is eternal, He was with God, He was God, He is Creator of everything, in Him was life and the life was the light of men.
Jesus is the dispenser of life and people commonly, but mistakenly, think that means He passes out life in some sort of container, but notice, in Him, not from Him meaning receive Him to receive life and the life will be your light. Outside of Christ, you live in darkness, but receiving Jesus will light up your life. You’re ready for Christmas if you’ll receive Christmas.
