Philippians 4:6,7 & Colossians 3:15,16
Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
OK, tomorrow you get to press the reset button which will propel you into a new year. You will move some things around in your life as you determine to forget some of what happened and re-commit to accomplishing some things you started.
You need to establish some anchor points that can see you through what life throws at you beginning with:
I am not going to worry about anything.
Instead, I will pray with the intensity necessary to connect with God all the while thanking Him for the outcome.
Because I pray I will count on His peace to defy explanation as it guards my heart and mind in and through Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts . . .16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you . . .
The word rule means umpire just like in a baseball game – you know, ball, strike, fair, foul, safe, out. When you are making decisions, depending on your feelings of peace or lack thereof to guide you.
First, let the word of God richly dwell in you as it forms the foundation of your life. It will give you guidance and direction. Then as you get down to specifics you will discover God giving you undeniable peace as you are thinking about which way should go. A calm sense of affirmation (that’s peace) will indicate the right choice, while, a rock in the gut says no.
