Fools Can't Stop God's Love

Psalm 107: 17-22

17 Fools, because of their rebellious way, and because of their iniquities, were afflicted. 18 Their soul abhorred all kinds of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. 19 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. 20 He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. 21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men! 22 Let them also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of His works with joyful singing.

Sometimes troubles in life are the result of divine discipline. This is one such time. Rebellious sinners were afflicted with a sickness that made food taste horrible and they came close to death. But they responded to God’s corrective touch and cried out to the Lord in their trouble and He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and He delivered them from their destructions. On that note let them give thanks to the Lord for His loving kindness, and for His wonders to the sons of men. Further, they should offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and tell of His works with joyful singing.

Once again sin and rebellion can’t stop God’s love, He responds to a humble cry for help with healing, salvation, and deliverance – all wrapped up in eternal lovingkindness.
